Recruitment That Understands Clinical Scope
There is a significant difference between a weekend-qualified massage therapist and a Sports Therapist. In the recruitment market, these lines often get blurred. We make them clear.
You need a clinician who can diagnose injuries, deliver advanced trauma care, and program late-stage rehabilitation that prevents re-injury. You need someone who is as comfortable on the pitch-side as they are in a treatment room.
As a specialist sports therapist recruitment agency, we strictly represent degree-qualified professionals. We understand the specific competencies of members of The Society of Sports Therapists (SST), The Sports Therapy Association (STA) and BASRaT, ensuring you get a clinician who is insured, autonomous, and commercially viable for your clinic.
Specialist roles we cover
We recruit for permanent and locum roles in two distinct sectors: Private Practice and Elite Sport.
Private Practice & Clinics
- Sports Therapists:
For multidisciplinary clinics, handling MSK caseloads and sports injuries. - Rehabilitation Specialists
Clinicians focused on post-operative rehab (e.g., ACL, rotator cuff) and return-to-play. - Soft Tissue Specialists
Therapists delivering deep tissue, instrument-assisted (IASTM), and manual therapy.
Elite Sport & Performance
- First Team Sports Therapists
Pitch-side trauma management (PHICIS/ITMMiF qualified) and match-day cover. - Academy Therapists
Clinicians working with EPPP academies and development squads. - Soft Tissue Leads
Specialists managing recovery strategies for professional squads.
Compliance and qualification checks
Because “therapist” can be a loose term in the fitness industry, our vetting process is rigorous. We protect your liability by ensuring every candidate is a legitimate healthcare professional.
Our vetting process can include, as required:
- Professional Membership
Verification of full membership with The Society of Sports Therapists (SST), The Sports Therapy Association (STA) or BASRaT. - Degree Qualification
We can request proof of a BSc or MSc in Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation, if required. - Trauma Training
For pitch-side roles, we can check current certification in PHICIS or equivalent trauma management levels. - Insurance Status
Ensuring the candidate has full medical malpractice and public liability cover.
For candidates: Elevate your career
Are you a Sports Therapist tired of being offered “gym instructor” roles?
We know the frustration of having a degree in clinical rehabilitation but being undervalued by generalist recruiters. We work with employers who respect your qualification. We place therapists into environments where they are part of a clinical team, not just a fitness team.
We recruit for:
- Private MSK & Physiotherapy Clinics
- Professional Football & Rugby Clubs
- University High-Performance Centres
- Specialist Orthopaedic Rehab Units
Common questions about our Sports Therapy Recruitment
What is the difference between a Physiotherapist and a Sports Therapist?
This is the most common question we get. While Physios cover a broad medical base (including respiratory and neuro), Sports Therapists are musculoskeletal specialists focused specifically on sport and exercise medicine. They are experts in injury assessment, manual therapy, and high-level rehabilitation.
Can Sports Therapists work in private clinics?
Absolutely. They are a huge asset to private practice. They often have superior manual therapy skills and exercise prescription knowledge compared to generalists, making them excellent at retaining active patients who want to return to sport.
